The exhibition From Form to Surface applies the means of contemporary art to investigating sustainable development, the changing environment, and people’s attitudes to consumption and materials. The works in the exhibition deal with subjects that include hope and despair, household waste, fossils, and the impact of changing circumstances. The exhibition artists take a stand on social injustice, and on humankind’s perverted relationship with nature and with being in the world. Art is an opportunity to take an alternative look at our everyday lives and the future of the planet.

From Form to Surface brings together artists from Finland and Russia. The exhibition artworks and installations make multifaceted use of a variety of materials, ranging from clay and porcelain to organic matter and video.
